The San Diego Senior Games Association (SDSGA) encourages lifelong fitness for the 50+ population. SDSGA offers a series of competitive and recreational events, luncheons, educational seminars, intergenerational projects and partnerships to help increase activity in the 50+ population. Our biggest event of the year, the San Diego Senior Olympics takes place annually in September. SDSGA is a local affiliate of the California State Games Association (CSGA) and the National Senior Games Association (NSGA). SDSGA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. About Their New Website

Originally running on Joomla, we needed a realistic and more user friendly way of managing their content and keeping the site up to date. We ended up going with WordPress and heavily customizing it to work for the Senior Games's needs and wants. They are fully setup with image galleries, an event system, featured posts, etc. and will soon have commissioner and staff blogs for their team members.

Behind the scenes are lots of fun plugins, some customized and some used right out of the box, that keep the site up and running. A cahcing system is in place (WP Super Cache) to decrease server load and inprove loading times for the site pages, which can hit up to 200 queries a page load.
